“ Stopped here on way back home from camping, got fish goujons and chips and it was delicious, very generous portion, staff were great and very generous, highly recommend. ”

“ Amazing fish & chips that’s freshly battered in front of you. I’d probably go as far as saying it’s the best I ever had it’s proper old school Irish F&C, a rare find these days. The curry is nice but I’d recommend getting two they’re not exactly small but one wasn’t enough for me because of the volume of it. €13.50 for F&C meal each with a drink Staff were a pleasure to deal with. Picture does no justice for the size of the fish. ”

“ I heard about this small chipper last year from someone who lives 80 KM’s from the place. “How does that happen?” He said that they have the most amazing Cod Goujons he’d ever tasted. I’ve driven past the place many times and from the outside it didn’t strike me as a place that could earn such an accolade. But never judge a book by its cover. Last time I pulled in it was closed. So it was on the radar and as we came close to it on route to Rosslare, so I suggested to herself we give it a go. I mentioned this accolade of achievement to Mags who was inviting me to place an order. Suddenly a man appeared up to the counter and I recon’d this had to be PJ. He quizzed me on my comment in a manner that I thought I’d insulted him, so I quickly relayed my comment to which he smiled, thankfully . We had some banter and he acknowledged I’d now put it up to him to deliver on this recognition. As we chatted, Mag’s produces a basket full of chips from the fryer and I couldn’t help notice how delicious they looked. I really like well cooked chips, none of your white chips for me. With military precision Mags informs me at what minute the food will be ready so I could step outside and wait for this moment to arrive. Exact 11 minutes later I returned and a brown paper bag the size of a school bag was passed over the counter to me. I didn’t suggest that she’d got me mixed up with a family order, I just thanked her and PJ commented that he’d like to know what I thought of his now famous Cod Goujons. I jumped in the car and as the wife drove off I informed her that I couldn’t wait and that I’d be eating while she drove. Well, the following 10 minutes were a memory that I know will never be repeated, it’s not possible. These Cod Goujons were so delicious that I had to take some photos or you’d never believe me. The Cod was beautiful, chunky and tasty. The batter was just the right amount, not smothering the Cod, just enough to be light enough to eat it all. These were huge too. 4 would fill any man. Each one as good as the first. Fully of Cod from the first bite to the last. No need to pull off the batter as it was there in perfect portion right to the end. And the chips were just as good. I hope you have the same amazing experience as we did. ”

“ Love pj's food just exceptional, staff always willing to help and have a laugh If passing through olygate definitely worth a visit, you won't be disappointed if it's good enough for Daniel and Majella O Donnell and Ed Sheeran it's good enough for everyone else ”

“ Stopped in on our way home from work today and had the fish and chips meal. The battered fish was lovely and crisp and as much as I'd like to have finished it all it was impossible as the portion was massive. Loads of chips too and nice proper cut chips. The guy that runs it was a pleasure too a very nice man. ”
